Diesel Fuel Demonstration
A company in Washington called Green Power, Inc. demonstrated a technology that can turn everyday landfill waste into diesel fuel through a process called Catalytic Depolymerization. An initial demonstration took place in Fife, Washington in front of approximately 200 spectators, including government officials, corporate representatives and media. Green Power’s mobile demonstration unit, mounted on a tractor-trailer rig visited cities across the country during the summer and fall of 2006. The mobile demonstration unit is a miniature version of a much larger, permanent plant that will consume, depending on size, from 500-2000 tons of landfill waste per day.
